Roborock S8 Pro Ultra The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. It's not like the model from last year it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to pick up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners may miss. As with the other two Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean the objects without a pause. It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto-filling. The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount itself for manual washing. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mount, which can cause scratches. The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these through the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise. 3. Dreame X40 The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and cutting-edge mowing capabilities. Its intelligent design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time. The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the best options available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair, crumbs and other dry debris. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance. The X40 has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation. The app is simple and user-friendly and the X40's clever features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, view floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished. The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many convenient features which make it a good choice for busy families. The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen in the market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list, at 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and feels robust and well built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
